In honor of the upcoming Bakhshi festival, which will be held in Termez, Uzbek craftswomen sewed the biggest carpet suzani.
The carpet is 25 meters long and 6 meters wide. It is the largest carpet ever embroidered in the world. Note that the weight of suzani exceeds 60 kilograms.
Suzani in Tajik means stitched with a needle, 20 of the country's most experienced seamstresses worked for several months to create this oriental beauty.
According to traditions and beliefs, suzani carpets are embroidered with different materials - silk, cotton or velvet, and serve as decoration in dwellings. Some residents give them the power of a talisman. For example, this is a mandatory attribute for brides, it is believed that the carpet protects the newlyweds from any trouble.
And in our case, a suzani carpet embroidered from silk will serve as an excellent talisman for the upcoming Bakhshi festival.
