In February 2019, the “Silk Visa” project will be launched.
A single visa will contribute to the development of tourism and increase the flow of travelers from abroad who want to visit several countries of Central Asia.
Earlier, the idea was already discussed on October 4 in Tashkent during the international exhibition "Tourism on the Silk Road", but the exact dates were not determined.

Silk Visa will operate between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. According to the informational portals, technical issues on the equipment are being resolved as well as the differences between the visa regimes of the countries.
It is planned to take “Silk Visa” project out of Central Asia, i.e. to connect such countries as Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan. The visa will have some similarities with the EU Schengen visa.
The idea of a single visa between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was announced in June 2018 by the political figure of Kazakhstan - D. Nazarbayeva.
