The Khan Allakulikhan built Karwan Saray in front of the Tash Hauli palace in the thirties of the 19 century. It is the last karwan saray building in Khorezm that exists nowadays. The Karwan Saray was a two-storey, rectangular building, which stretched from South to North. It had a wide yard, accommodations and warehouses. There was a market in front of the Karwan Saray.
The Market Ali Kulikhan was built in front of the Karwan Saray in the years from 1836 to1838. It was a market that traded garments and textile. Its profits were used to support the library that was located in the Allakulikhan madrasa.
